Hundreds of Personal Care Items Donated for Area Schools in Honor of National Health Center Week

CARIBOU, ME – August 29, 2023 – Healthy students make better learners, and providing personal care items that they can discretely obtain from the school nurse or office, can help students focus more on learning. In recognition of this year’s National Health Center Week, Pines Health Services held a donation drive for items that would help children stay healthy this school year.

“We called several local schools to see what some of their biggest needs were, and asked the community to help meet that need,” said Elizabeth Singer, community relations coordinator for Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Services. “The support we received from the community was outstanding! It’s wonderful what we can accomplish when we come together to help each other.”

Several hundred personal care items like deodorant, body wash, dental hygiene supplies, wipes, and feminine hygiene products were donated. Pines also received items like sweat pants, leggings, and general school supplies. The items were divided and are being distributed to area schools.

Pines would like to thank everyone who donated items, and to please support more events like this in the future.
